　 【Description】1847年、ルイ・フランソワ＝カルティエが宝石細工しとして工房をスタートさせたフランスのブランドで、腕時計の分野でも非常に歴史があります。

1904年に誕生し、以後カルティエの代表的な時計として挙げられるサントス ドゥ カルティエ。

ブラジル人飛行家、アルベルト・サントス＝デュモンがカルティエの3代目ルイ・ジョゼ・カルティエに「飛行機を操縦している時に操縦桿から手を離さずに時間を確認できる時計が欲しい」と相談されたことから生まれた時計です。

このサントス オクタゴンは誕生の契機となった飛行機のビスを各部にあしらったデザインに加えて、その名の通りベゼルが八角形になっているのが特徴的です。

ステンレスケースに18Kゴールドのベゼル、ビスのコンビと呼ばれる組み合わせが一般的ですが、こちらはオールステンレスのモデルです。

コンビモデルに比べるとよりカジュアルな印象で。

手元にシルバーカラーが欲しいという方にはおすすめです。

LMサイズは当時のメンズサイズですが、リューズ抜きで29mm、リューズを入れると32mmと男性だけで無く女性もお使い頂ける大きさです。

タンクのLMサイズよりは大きく、サントスガルベのLMよりは小さい。

ちょうど中間のサイズでロレックスではボーイズサイズに当たるサイズ感となっています。

ホワイトダイアルにローマンインデックス、ブルースティールの針とクラシックなデザインながら、ダイアルは経年変化が少なく古めかしさは感じないコンディションです。

また、この時計は80年代に存在した自動巻きのモデルで、クォーツ(電池式)モデルと違い秒針が少しずつ動くことも特徴の一つです。

ブレスレットは腕周りが16.5cm程度です。
